The USA plays today and I have never been more awake at 06:34 in my life.

I do not know what has happened to me. The house is cold and quiet. The ponderosas are still out there being ponderosas. And yet. AND YET.

Something is in the air and it is not the ponderosas.

Dad is up. This is unusual. The studio light is on. I am vibrating at a frequency that is scientifically inadvisable for a 65-pound basset hound. Gus is still asleep. Gus does not know what day it is. I know what day it is.

It is the day.

I have positioned myself at the desk. The cookie came. I did not taste it. I was somewhere else entirely.
